The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) is a labor union representing nearly 900,000 workers and retirees across the electrical industry.
IBEW members help build, maintain and modernize the systems that power and connect communities — working in construction, utilities, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads and government.
Founded in 1891, the IBEW has a long history of advancing safety, skill and fair standards of work. The IBEW is affiliated with the AFL-CIO and is led by International President Kenneth W. Cooper.

While the union is widely known for representing electricians (inside wiremen) in construction and linemen in the utility sector, IBEW membership also includes professionals in:

IBEW Code of Excellence
The IBEW Code of Excellence (COE) is designed to ensure the highest standards of excellence — on the job and in the way IBEW members represent the Brotherhood. Expectations for Members in Leadership Roles
IBEW members who serve in management or supervision roles have a responsibility to understand the Code of Excellence principles, how they support IBEW organizing and how they connect to overall membership responsibilities. Just as importantly, effective job management is a corresponding obligation to the Code of Excellence.
When members honor the COE, they rightfully expect the same commitment from leaders in areas such as safety, professionalism, accountability, relationships and quality.
