How to Apply for a Job

To remain on IBEW Local 71’s current “Out of Work” Books, you must re-sign every month between the 10th and the 16th.

STEP 1:

SIGN THE BOOKS

Local 71 members may re-sign online by logging into the Members Section, navigating to the Book Re-sign page, and submitting the form.

STEP 2:

Re-Sign Every month

To remain on IBEW Local 71’s current “Out of Work” Books, you must re-sign every month between the 10th and 16th.

STEP 3:

We update our Job Board every weekday at 5:00 p.m. Please note that the Job Board is considered accurate only between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Local 71 members may log in and submit bids directly by selecting their desired jobs; a confirmation email will be sent after submission.

Leave a detailed message that includes:

Your Name
Classification
Card Number
Phone Number
Specific Job you are Bidding on.

STEP 5:

DISPATCH BEGINS AT 9:30am

All call-backs will be made in the order of which you appear on the Out of Work Books.

STEP 6:

JOB Offer

Please do not call to inquire about bid status before 3:00 p.m. The Referral Agent requires sufficient time each day to complete all call-backs.

No call will be made if you did not receive the bid.

How to Re-sign by Email

If you have a current application on file (submitted within the last year), you may re-sign by emailing resign@ibew71.org. If your re-sign is received within the re-sign window, you will be placed back on the books.

Important: Only re-signs received and dated between the 10th and the 16th will be accepted. Re-signs sent before the 10th or after the 16th will not be counted.

Travelers

Travelers from other Local Unions who wish to be placed on Local 71’s “Out of Work” Books must provide a Letter of Introduction from their home Local Union. The letter must be sent to the Local 71 office by fax at (614) 539-4855 or by email to resign@www.ibew71.org.

Before you start work

If you take a call from Local 71, you must report to the office with a current dues ticket before starting the job.
